Do you remember the post about the trip Mr A and I had booked to go to France for the day in December with our friends John and Yasmin?
The Euro Tunnel was at a complete standstill that day, as was the motorway!!!
Well, we finally went on Saturday - Yay!!
We left home around 08:15
Our train was booked for 12:00
But we were lucky enough to get there in time for an earlier train!!!
When we arrived in Calais we went to check out some hotels near to the terminal as Mr Angel and John are off on a little jaunt in June with some friends on their Lambretta and Vespa scooters!!!
From there we went to Cite Europe to buy wine and to look round the gorgeous shops there!!
Of course we had to take a break for lunch!!!
Then we were off to do some more shopping!!
We went here...
and bought...
Then we went here
and bought
Yes more wine - none of it was for me!!! Yasmin does not belong to AA contrary to what you might think after seeing the photographs!!!! She stocks up!!!
We stopped off for a lovely french coffee!!
Before heading back to the Eurotunnel terminal and home!
We didn't have time for dinner in France too, so we went out for a late meal when we got home!!
We had a fantastic day - but we always do with John and Yasmin!!!
Thank you Yasmin for organising this great day out!!
Thank you Mr A for driving!!!

Hi!!!! just found your rather gorgeous blog via a comment you made on Juanita's blog. I do hope you pop over to visit me. I notice that you swapped with the lovely Lydia - marvellous. I too believe in Angels and believe that Lydia is an angel here on earth. Totally envious of your jaunt to France - and all that wine!!
Wishing you another fabulous weekend! xxxx
P.S. Can't believe you went to France for buying Asti Spumante!
;-)

I love France.....shopping trips are such fun there....France is so relaxing!xx
Is the Tesco like our American Wal-mart? It certainly has the look of one. How much fun it must be to pop over to another country. It takes us days just to get across the United States. Looks like a fun day was had by all. Stella
What a wonderful trip! It must be so much fun to be able to pop over to France for the day!! Way out west in the US where I live it takes hours to get anywhere. I read somewhere that Boise, Idaho, where I live is the most remote city in the lower 48. Once when flying from Chicago to Boise, at night, I looked out of the window and there were virtually no lights below for a few hours and then suddenly the lights along the runway at the Boise Airport and the pilot announcing our destination. So ... a day trip to France sounds heavenly! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Lots of Love,
Susan and Bentley

I forgot that UK supermarkets were up there! Have you ever tried Carrefour and Leclerc - they are our big two? It sounds like a great day out. We buy big boxes of wine from the local co-ops too. I think the French consider it a bit naff but it's a cheap way of buying and preserving quite good wine, so there you go...
Corr that Omelete looks sooo scrummy!
Not sure I'm brave enough to go under all the water, what was it like, does it take long? xx
Great to have such a nice day out with good friends! My daughter & her friend are popping over for the day to visit the lace museum in Calais & to browse the fleamarket.

How great is that, being in two countries in one day!! Looks like you all have had a marvelous time!! REAL FUN! We have never made this trip, when we come to England we travel by Stena Line. We get on the boat in Hoek van Holland and we get off the boat in your lovely country in Harwich....
Have a lovely weekend, sweet Angel! xo
Oh how fun...I would of loved to be along with you for a fantastic day...the weather looked amazing. xoxo I would so love to just pop over the France. xoxox

My fiance A and I also have journeyed to Calais to buy wine, eat, shop, relax before returning to England. We went to the French supermarkets though (pity I don't yet speak a word of French). He's brought me with him twice and I must say I really loved it! We made the mistake ONCE of going on a Sunday when things were closed! (So we nipped over to Belgium).
You sure know how to shop!
Have a lovely easter.
