Tips for Tuesday

To keep your refrigerator smelling sweet, apart from giving it a regular bath, keep an open tub of bicarbonate of soda in it to absorb any odours that may form!!
Change it every month to keep your fridge fresh!

Special Birthday

Today my very good friend Lesley has a 'special birthday'!!! I won't tell you how old she is, because - well because!!

I wondered for months what to get her, and one day came up with the idea of adopting her an animal from Australia Zoo in Brisbane!! As the zoo was the home of the late Steve Irwin 'The Crocodile Hunter' and Lesley is mad on him and anything that he did!! I decided on a Koala called Luca from there as she also loves them! The process was really easy, and today I gave her the adoption certificate!!
Here is a picture of her Koala, he made me laugh!
I also bought a few other things normal for 'special days', a tower of Belgian chocolates, a bouquet of flowers and some 'bubbly'!!

There was one other thing that I thought she would love - a cake!! So after checking with the rest of the family, I set to and made a large fruit cake, put marzipan on it and flat iced it. Firstborn angel offered to help with the decoration, which pleased me a lot. We decided to make the cake a teapot theme as Lesley loves her tea. When I got in from work, look what I found!!!!!

Isn't it beautiful!! I have a very talented little angel!!!!

I can say the Lesley was overwhelmed when she saw it!! So we were all happy!!!

Happy Birthday Lesley!!!

Double chocolate muffins in double quick time!!!

Last night I decided to treat my colleagues - who apparently have been starved of my baking of late and have been letting me know it!!!

So I decided to find the time to bake the some Double chocolate muffins. I found this great recipe and believe it or not they took about 10 minutes to prepare and 20 minutes to cook: so voila, fabulous muffins in 30 minutes and happy colleagues for a few days at least!!!!!

If you want to try these for yourself click here to get the recipe!
Maybe you'll have time bake them over the weekend I hope you do!!!
Have a wonderful weekend ladies!!!

Splash!

Thank You very much Michela

The lovely Michela has given me a 'Splash' award intended to be passed to 'alluring, amusing, inspiring bewitching and impressive blogs!' Wow I'm really honoured, not to mention thrilled as you all know I have only been blogging for just over a week now, so you can imagine how pleased I am!

The rules of the award are:

1. Post the award on your blog.

2. Nominate up to 9 blogs.

3. Let your nominees know they have won

4. Link back to the person who gave it to you

This is the really difficult part, because all of you are such lovely people with the most wonderful and inspiring blogs that you all deserve to be chosen for an award!!
Finally, and with much difficulty I have nominated:

Wendy McQueen @ Wendy House

Tip for Tuesday

A couple of years ago, while packing to come home from a wonderful holiday in Florida, I pulled out a bag of new unopened nail polish. This one was my favourite, isn't it lovely?

Well it was until the bottle jumped out of the bag and fell onto the floor. The neck of the bottle broke off spilling bright red nail polish all over the beautiful carpet.

OOOPS!!!!

I really went into panic mode. I had visions of paying for a new carpet for the entire upper floor!

Firstborn Angel and her friend came to the rescue with nail polish remover whilst Next born Angel took me to the supermarket to get more!!
We managed to remove 98% leaving a slight stain. This really worried me as I did not want to leave any marks or damage to the wonderful house we were staying in.
That night I was reading one of the fabulous American magazines that we all buy when we visit and I found this hint:

For any stains remaining in carpets after cleaning, lay a damp towel over the stain and press with a hot iron, keep doing that till the stain disappears.

To my amazement, every bit of the stain disappeared. Take care not to flatten the pile though. This really works!!!
I did thank any Angels who inspired me to read the article in the first place!

Phew! Thanks!!!

Kindest wishes and love to you all

Attitude for Gratitude

Thank you to my lovely friend Kelly for nominating me for this 'Attitude for Gratitude' award.
The award encourages us to 'see blessings where they're not obvious, and to make lemonade instead of complaining about sour lemons'
I now have to share the things I am grateful for and pass the award on!
I have so many things in my life that I am truly grateful for I don't actually know where to start, but here goes....
First of all I am grateful for my lovely husband who takes very good care of me, and my two children who are both loving and caring.

The rest of my family, because we are like the Musketeers - all for one and one for all!!!

I am grateful for our wonderful home that I love which keeps us warm and protects us.

I have a wonderful job that I love

I am grateful for my lovely friends including my new friends in Blogland!.

My health - it's always good.
I am lucky enough to have lovely holidays and I am greteful for those.
I could go on and on - you maybe think that I already have!!! Sorry!!
Now I have to pass this award on to someone. That for me is the difficult part as there are so many lovely people whose blogs I read!! Therefore, after much consideration, I would like pass this award to:
and

Like Kelly who gave the award to me: I to am a believer in expressing gratitude, so anyone is welcome to take the award and pass it on - the more the merrier!!!!!
Kindest thoughts and love

Happy Birthday To You ..........

It is my good friend's birthday today! She loves all things antique, but especially antique cup and saucer sets. Look at this 1920's set I found for her on an accidental visit to an antique shop!!

Sunday 11 October 2009

Hello

This is my first ever post and I feel quite nervous about it. I love reading the posts on all the lovely blogs that I visit, it looks like such fun that I decided I would like to join in!
As soon as I visit a blog I get an immediate feeling of all the kindness and love eminating from it, it makes me feel happy and peaceful - like watching a feel good film. It's absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for the effort you all put in to create a wonderfully joyous atmosphere. I hope you all feel very good as there cannot be this much kindness and joy given by you, without it being returned.

Here is a little about me and my family, there is a Mr Angel and 2 lovely little angels - well not little now, both grown up with homes of their own, but lovely never the less!!!! In fact it has been with the gratefully received help of First born Angel who assisted me creating this blog: and I hope she will continue to help and inspire me, bless her!
Until next time I am sending my kindest wishes and love to you all.
